The smartwatch can be connected to the
smartphone to get notifications about incoming
for calls, texts, emails and alerts and also offers
a preview of messages to allow users to accept
or ignore these using the smartwatch itself. For
battery backup, it comes with a 315mAh non-
removable battery which as per the company’s
claims runs for up to a day.
Besides this, the Galaxy Gear comes with two
built-in mics and a speaker to allow answering
or making calls. It connects over Bluetooth and
sensors like an accelerometer and gyroscope,
and supports third-party applications. Samsung
has partnered with 70 odd apps including the
earlier speculated fitness-related apps like
MyFitnessPal and RunKeeper, and other apps like
Evernote, Line, eBay and more. Moreover, users
will also be able to access smartphone features
like S Voice, Find My Device, and a pedometer
from their Galaxy Gear smartwatch.
It is powered by 1.9GHz octa-core processor and
a 3GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel rear camera
alongside 2-megapixel front camera. It is
powered by 3,200mAh battery and runs Android
4.3 Jelly Bean. The Galaxy Note 3 will be
available in 32GB and 64GB variants. Both
variants come with support for up to 64GB of
additional external storage. Connectivity options
on the Note 3 include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac,
GPS/ GLONASS, NFC, Bluetooth v4.0 (LE), IR, and
MHL 2.0.
